Recreating the landscape, one tree at a time. By putting together elements from memory with what I see anew, and doing what I must to the composition to tell my story. I'm trying not to be a slave to the scene, but to do what's needed to put my stamp on the piece, my vision of New England. I feel that what is left out is as important as what is put into a painting. I paint my impression of it, focusing on what captures my attention giving just enough information to tell the story, but wanting the viewer to fill in the blanks. I studied at Vesper George School of Art in Boston, strongly influenced by Wyeth and the early impressionists. My work is in homes and corporations coast to coast, and in shows and galleries from Maine to Florida. |
